Gotta say, I had both my kids at home in a birthing pool and with a midwife and I wouldn't change it for anything. 8 hours with my first, 4 hours with my second. The water was so soothing to me, the warmth was everything. And being able to move around! Oh and we paid for it out of pocket, only $2k for each kid. That was all 9 months care, and a few postpartum visits. Beats the hospital any day for price. And that was without insurance, for those wondering about that.
